Qinghai Zhaoyang logistics park builds rail service centre

THE US$500 million rail service centre project in Qinghai Zhaoyang logistics park has commenced construction, reports Logistics Week.
The rail service centre will expand the construction of Xining North Station on the Ningda branch line (Xining to Datong) by combining the building of double track of Lanqing line (Lanzhou to Xining) and Xige line (Xining to Geermu), according to Xining city plans.
The centre is equipped with facilities for container loading, parcel packing and bulk cargo. It covers 10,000 square metres with an annual capacity of 11 million tonnes. The construction is divided into three phases and the building of the cargo station and freight yard is to be completed in Phase 1 of the project.
The logistics park with an area of 1.45 square kilometres focuses on modern logistics, goods exhibition and trades combines local distributing, regional logistics , neighbouring express service and road-rail intermodal transport into as a whole, which actively drives the regional economic development of Qingzang.
