Ukraine reduces oil transit

In August, oil transit through Ukraine decreased by 5.4% to 2.357 million tons against July, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy reported.

The near-Dnieper oil pipelines reduced oil transit by 8.7% - to 601.8 thousand tons and "Druzhba" oil pipeline - by 4.3% to 1.755 million tons.

Totally, oil transit through Ukraine in August 2008 went down by 28.3% versus August 2007.

Since early 2008, oil transit through Ukraine reduced by 18.9% against January-August 2007 to 22.017 million tons.

In 2007, oil transit through Ukraine grew by 19.7% against 2006 to 39.755 million tons.
