The new complex has a total area of 11,277 square metres, including a warehouse with a net floor space area of 8,546 sq m, adding to the existing 4,500 sq m at the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Hub located adjacent to the new facility. Both warehouses are bonded and provide essential security features.
The strategic location of the new facility - it is close to Changi Airport and easily accessible by major expressways - complements Panalpina's existing air freight, ocean freight, and other logistics offices around the island. Equipped with state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution systems, the new facility will enhance Panalpina's network in the Asia Pacific region by providing its customers with a vital link to the region and supporting them in managing their complex global supply chains.
'Singapore's strategic location and importance as a regional distribution hub make it a natural choice for Panalpina to set up our own logistics hub here,' said Panalpina South-east Asia managing director Volker Sachse.
Panalpina's investment in the new facility signals its commitment to further increase and enhance its role in the logistics service sector in the region. The Swiss-listed company is one of the world's leading providers of forwarding and logistics services, specialising in intercontinental air freight and ocean freight shipments and associated supply chain management solutions.
