Rosgranitsa to set “Big Port St. Pb” checkpoint limits in June
The layout of the boundaries of the marine border-crossing checkpoint "Big Port of St. Petersburg" was rescheduled for June 2012. This decision was taken following a meeting of the commission, which was held on May 12, the Federal Agency for Development of the State Border Facilities of the Russian Federation (Rosgranitsa) said.
The Commission discussed some problems connected with the possibility of inclusion in the checkpoint limits the territory of Baltimore Ltd., JSC Baltic Plant, and a controversial issue of establishing the point boundaries on the cargo area of JSC Container Terminal, JSC Petersburg Oil Terminal, JSC Baltic Bulker Terminal.
The checkpoint boundaries has turned out to be a complicated issue and triggered a dispute between some business entities operating at the port “as the inclusion of their territories imposes certain financial obligations on other operators for the cost of permits and transport,” the report says.
