LENMORNIIPROEKT BOD appoints Nikolai Kuznetsov new Director General of the institute

Nikolai Kuznetsov has been appointed new Director General of LENMORNIIPROEKT (part of Transbunker Group, St. Petersburg), PortNews IAA learnt from Aleksandr Batyunya, first Vice-President of Transbunker, member of LENMORNIIPROEKT Board of Directors. According to him, the decision was taken by the company’s BOD on March 30. 


Nikolai Kuznetsov has a considerable increase in design and construction business. Earlier he managed implementation of projects in Yaroslavl and Murmansk. Aleksandr Panin, who had been the head of the design institute for the last three years, has left the company. No information about his current position is available for this moment. 

At the same meeting a decision was taken on appointment of Vadim Lutsenko, Director on production and safety, as the Chairman of LENMORNIIPROEKT BOD.

According to Aleksandr Batyunya, the institute’s management replacement is caused by the shareholders’ wish to optimize business amidst the crisisу. “Amidst the new economic situation we need a new Director General capable of solving new tasks,” he told PortNews IAA.

Among the priority tasks of the new Director General is stabilization of the situation in the institute itself and securing stable backlog of orders for LENMORNIIPROEKT. 

Aleksandr Batyunya also stressed that Transbunker Group still considers its design business as an efficient and independent one.

LENMORNIIPROEKT Open Joint Stock Company is a modern multibusiness engineering and consultancy company specialising in port design and transport projects. It offers services in the field of marine and coastal engineering, civil engineering, survey and investigations under construction, process engineering and utility systems, economics and environmental protection. The design institute was founded in 1885.
