Azov-and-Don Shipping Company to invest $140-150 mln in construction of vessels
Azov-and-Don Shipping Company plans to invest $140-150 mln in construction of vessels within the framework of the fleet renovation program, Interfax learnt from Aleksandr Davidenko, Director General of Kuban River Shipping Company (part of the Group).
“Together with the Group Azov-and-Don Shipping Company we have developed a program on renovation of the fleet. This two-phase program envisages the fleet optimization and reduction of the vessels number, while the total deadweight is to be increased,” he said.
Part of old M/V below 3,000 tonnes in deadweight is to be sold within the first phase. Then the company plans to build 10 new 6,000-7,000 dwt vessels. The first vessel within the framework of the program (Tanais) has been launched already. The second one is under construction.
