China's Nanshan freight port to be operational in H1
Nanshan freight port in Sanya of South China's Hainan province has completed construction of its main terminals, coupled with the terminal facilities and stock yard being built. The port is expected to be put into use in the first half of this year, reports Xinhua.
The port's first phase project is invested with CNY300 million (US$43.9 million) of which CNY250 million has been collected. A 20,000-tonne berth with ancillary facility has been completed. The port with a quay length of 260 metres will have a designed annual capacity of 650,000 tonnes.
The port stems form Sanya port's function separation from freight, fishing and passenger transport. It will become a freight port area for Sanya port and an international carrying trade centre of South China, advancing the trade development between Southeast Asian countries and Taiwan.
