Transshipment of oil products at outer anchorage of Kavkaz port to be carried out via a single storage tanker in 2009 – Harbor Master

Transshipment of oil products at the outer anchorage of Kavkaz port (Administration of Taman seaports) will be carried out via a single storage tanker in 2009. This tanker is placed by Solid LLC. Placement of other storage tankers during summer navigation is not being planned, PortNews IAA learnt from Andrei Iovlev, Harbor Master of the port. “In 2009, like in 2008, one storage tanker will serve the port,” he said.

According to PortNews IAA, almost 800,000 tonnes of heavy fuel oil was exported via storage tanker of Solid LLC in 2008 (the majority of the volume – from Russneft refineries). The product was delivered to port Kavkaz by river tankers with a capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes. The majority of Russian export oil products are transsiped via Ukrainian port of Kerch. In navigation 2008, total transportation of oil cargo from Russian refineries by inland waterways towards southern ports reached almost 4 million tonnes.
