In the first quarter of 2009, seaport Kavkaz increased cargo transshipment by 16.8%, year-on-year, to 1.339 million tonnes, Taman branch of RosMorPort FSUE reports.
According to the source, turnover of oil products amounted to 785,610 tonnes, general cargo - 258,110tonnes. Railway ferry in port Kavkaz handled 423,860 tonnes of cargo (-21.4%, year-on-year).
Seaport Kavkaz was built in 1953 to ensure operation of Krym-Kuban ferry link.
