RF Government to establish single body for management of all Russian IWW – Sergei Ivanov

RF Government plans to establish a unified body to manage all inland waterways of Russia, Vice PM Sergei Ivanov told the Government meeting today according to RIA Novosti.

Sergei Ivanov says the nearest meeting of the Maritime Board is to consider the issue related to management of transportation at all inland sea and river waterways of Russia. The draft concept envisages establishement of a unified management body. Ivanov added the federal special purpose program on Russia’s transport system development envisages allocation of resources for renovation of berths and development of the entire infrastructure as well as for repair of locks.

An April 15 RF Transport Minister Igor Levitin will address State Duma deputies within the framework of a “government hour”. The Minister is supposed to tell about measures undertaken by the RF Government for the development of Russia’s maritime and inland water transport infrastructure.
