RF Transport Ministry recommends that sea and river ports are preferentially taxed
RF Ministry of Transport asks constituent entities of the Russian Federation to apply preferential tax treatment for transport companies, PRIME-TASS cites Transport Minister Igor Levitin as saying at the meeting in St. Petersburg.
“I want to ask constituent entities of the Russian Federation to apply preferential property and land tax for transport companies including airports, sea and river ports. The moreproperty we create the higher the tax. I’d ask for a support. Otherwise this business isgetting unprofitable. If we implement the entire construction program this tax will exceed RUR 2 bln by 2015 with 9 mln for airports, 4 mln – for seaports, which accounts for 20% of the companies’ income. Such a tax burden will result in aggravation of the transport companies’ state,” he noted.
