Trial customs clearance in “dry ports” to be launched in St. Petersburg by summer 2009
Trial customs clearance in “dry ports” is to be launched in St. Petersburg by summer 2009, PortNews IAA learnt from Dmitri Nekrasov, head of the central administration for arrangement of customs clearance and customs control of Russian FCS. In case of a success trial, Nekrasov says, the practice of customs clearance in “dry ports” is to be introduced in all Russian seaports, which require it and have a corresponding background.
According to Dmitri Nekrasov, the technology of customs clearance has already been developed and is ready for introduction. Major purpose of customs clearance in “dry ports” is unloading of seaports’ basic territory.
