St. Petersburg shipyards are fully booked with orders, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Oseevski told journalists. According to him, the chances of the city shipbuilding industry are in construction of naval ships, oil and gas carriers to cater for the shelf fields, icebreakers and other highly technical vessels. “Meanwhile we cannot be absolutely satisfied with the labor efficiency in this industry", the Vice-Governor said.
Besides, he expressed a doubt in the ability of the United Shipbuilding Corporation to implement the project on creation of a shipbuilding complex on the basis of shipbuilding plant Severnaya Verf according to the schedule. “It is a very capital-intensive project while it is quite difficult to obtain a credit in the present context," Mikhail Oseevski explaied.
