Krasnoye Sormovo to build 3 tankers for KazMorTransFlot for $66.450 mln

Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard  (Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia)  and National Maritime Shipping Company KazMorTransFlot  hae signed a contract for construction of three oil tankers. According to the document, the first tanker will be delivered to the customer in September 2009, the second and the third – in May and in August 2010 respectively. Total value of the contract – $66.450, MNP Group states.

13,000-dwt tankers were designed by Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau for transportation of crude oil and oil products.

Seven companies participated in the open tender held by KazMorTransFlot on March 27 of the current year: Krasnoye Sormovo (Russia), Maritim Shipyard (Poland),  Hundai Corporation (S. Korea), Astrakhan SPO (Russia),  MTG-Dorphin-AD (Bulgaria), Vyborg shipyard, Wadan Yards Ocean (Ukraine). Krasnoye Sormovo has won the competition.

According to Vadim Malov, MNP Director General, this contract opens cooperation with KazMorTransFlot. “We have not only signed the contract but also discussed our joint perspectives including the possibility to build 60,000-dwt tankers.

KazMorTransFlot National Maritime Shipping Company carries out transportation of all freight including crude and oil products, general cargo, containers etc; construction, operation and repair of all types of vessels; chartering and leasing services.

MNP Group incorporates the leading Russian shipyards: Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhniy Novgorod), Volgograd Shipyard, as well as Sormovskoye Mashinostroeniye (Nizhniy Novgorod), Volgograd Special Engineering Plant and Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau.
