Throughput of First Container Terminal (Petersburg) down 22.6% to 198,357 TEU in Q1 09
In the first quarter of 2009, First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg) handled 198,357 TEU (-22.6%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from National Container Company, owner of the terminal.
First Container Terminal (FCT CJSC) is a specialized container terminal located at the port of St. Petersburg. It is managed by the National Container Company. Today FCT is the leader among the companies handling container cargoes in Russia and in the region of the Baltic Sea. The capacity of the container ground is 21,200 TEU, refrigerated area - 2,700 sockets. Annual capacity of the terminal is 1.1 mln TEU. In 2006 an investment program was approved to increase the capacity to 1.6 mln TEU by 2012.
