SCI and MSC to jointly operate ISE service from May 16
The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd and Mediterranean Shipping Company of SA have announced the decision to jointly operate the India Subcontinent Europe Service from India to Europe starting from May 16 at Colombo.
Seven vessels, with a capacity of about 4,300 TEU each will be deployed to offer a fixed day, weekly service. The port rotation will be Colombo, JNP, Mundra, Salalah, Port Said, Barcelona, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Port Said, Jeddah, Colombo.
SCI was operating this service with YML, "K" Line and Zim. While Zim had withdrawn from the service a month back YML and ‘K" Line will continue till May 16. Their subsequent plans are not known.
For MSC, the ISE service will be in addition to the direct service it already operates ex-Nhava Sheva and Mundra to Europe.
With this deployment of vessels into the ISES service, both SCI and MSC have demonstrated their commitment to the trade as their clients are now assured of a reliable, fixed-day, weekly sailing between the Indian Subcontinent and Europe.
