Baltiysky Zavod will deliver icebreaker Sankt-Peterburg to the customer in the second quarter of 2009, PortNews reporter cites Andrei Fomichev, Director General of the shipyard, as telling journalists. According to the source, mooring trial is to be carried out in May 2009.
Icebreaker Sankt-Peterburg is the second icebreaker of the series being built by Baltiysky Zavod for RosMorPort FSUE. The icebreaker is intended for assistance of large 50 m wide vessels, towing operations, emergency/rescue operations and emergency aid to ships, recovery of oil and chemicals in open sea as well as search operations and firefighting. As it was reported earlier the icebreaker was to be launched in the first quarter of 2009.
