OSK and Tatarstan sign agreement to let Zelenodolsk shipyard enter Corporation in 2009

United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK OJSC) and Tatarstan Government signed an agreement on cooperation on April 22. The document was signed by Tatarstan PM Rustam Minnikhanov and OSK President Vladimir Pakhomov, Tatar-inform reports. Within the framework of the newly signed agreement Zelenodolsk shipyardmay enter OSK by the end of the current year.

“The document we have signed today is of a framework nature but it precisely determines directions for the development including leasing. The state allocates budget money for OSK to assist in construction of our vessels. We are ready to consider one of the directions with the shipyard called after Gorki. I think the agreement will bring fruitful results in the nearest future,” Vladimir Pakhomov says.

Zelenodolsk Design Bureau is already in OSK. “It is quite logical that the next issue to be considered is that related to inclusion of Gorki shipyard, Pakhomov sayd.

Zelenodolsk shipyard is now owned by Tatarstan republic though it is affiliated by Ak-Bars-Holding.

“I think Tatarstan Government will find a possibility to transfer a certain package of shares to OSK and in its turn to get a share in the corporation. As of today, the authorized capital of OSK totals RUR 117 bln. The share in OSK capital will depend on how much shares will be transferred by the shipyard to the corporation, OSK President explains.

The agreement covers technological issues, prospects of cooperation when it comes to passenger and military vessels, OSK contract.

Besides Gorki shipyard the corporation will also include the plants of the Volga and South region.
