Krasnoye Sormovo plans sales revenue at RUR 4.5 bln in 2009

Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (Nizhni Novgorod) plans its sales revenue at RUR 4.5 bln in 2009, Gudok cites the shipyard’s Director General Nikolai Zharkov as informing journalists.

According to him, the shipyard is to build 6 vessels. As it was reported earlier, 3 oil tankers will be built for KazMorTransFlot (National Maritime Shipping Company, Kazakhstan). Other tankers will be built for Turkmen shipping companies and for Palmali Group.

“All our customers are foreign companies,” Zharkov said. According to him the shipyard no vessels have been built for Russian ship owners since 1998 (due to high costs) though the yard’s capacity after modernization and purchase of expensive imported equipment enables it to build up to 10 ships per year.

Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard is a part of MNP Group which also incorporates Volgograd Shipyard, as well as Sormovskoye Mashinostroeniye (Nizhniy Novgorod), Volgograd Special Engineering Plant and Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau.
