In the first quarter of 2009, total throughput of all seaports in Odessa region (Ukraine) fell by 5.4%, year-on-year, to 23.899 million tonnes, the corporate report reads.
Throughput of Odessa port fell by 19% to 7.352 mln t, Illichivsk – by 9.7% to 4.304 mln t, Yuzhny – by 10% to 4.680 mln t, Izmail – by 46.6% to 1.28 mln t, Reni – by 44% to 464,000 tonnes.
Sea terminals of the region account for some 92.6% of all cargo handled by all Ukrainian seaports, which fell by 17.1% to 25.805 million tonnes in Q1 09. In the reported period, transit fell by 19.7% to 10.330 million tonnes, import – by 70.5% to 1.224 million tonnes, while export increased by 1.3% to 13.449 million tonnes.
