Train congestion at approaches to Novorossiysk is likely to last till late May, press center of North Caucasus Railway states.
According to the source, 50 cargo trains accumulated at the approaches to port Novorossiysk as of April 23. 30 trains loaded with grain are to be handled by Novorossiysk Grain Terminal OJSC and 20 trains – by Novorossiysk Commercial SeaPort including 12 trains with ore and 8 trains with ferrous metal.
North Caucasus Railway does not expect the problem to be solved before the end of May taking into consideration the volumes announced by cargo shippers for May.
It should be reminded that Russian Railways OJSC twice turned to a ban for grain shipment to the port, the latter expired on March 5.
