Emirates Shipping Line links with TS Lines
Vikas Khan, the founder of embattled Emirates Shipping Line, resigned today. He had already moved aside from ceo to the board in January to be replaced by Capt Romi Kaushal. Now he has relinquished his place on the board to T S Chen who becomes executive director of parent, Emirates Holding and chairman of Emirates Shipping Line.
The move starts the beginning of a strategic partnership with TS Lines. Both firms will remain independent, but will work together to cut costs. TS Lines is a famous intra-Asia player, founded in Hong Kong in 2001.
Three-year-old Emirates Shipping Line is registered in Dubai Maritime City of UAE and commercially headquartered in Dubai and Hong Kong. It has 12 ships of sub-4,000 teu in size. The company declined to comment on the internal changes made today.
