Development of Murmansk transport hub lags behind shelf development – transport minister
The development of Murmansk transport hub lags behind the development of shelf fields, RF Transport Minister Igor Levitin said at the meeting of the Federation Council dedicated to implementation of RF Transport Strategy till 2030, ITAR-TASS reports.
Levitin also noted that “resources have already been allocated for the development of Murmansk transport hub including construction of a 29-km railway approach”.
However, the minister said “the land on the western side of the Kola Bay provided for port construction was partly taken on lease for 49 and partly purchased”. “We will start modernization as soon as we solve the issue related to the land on the western side,” the minister underlined.
