Federal Antimonopoly Service allows scrap metal export via Archangelsk port – region’s administration
Federal Antimonopoly Service has acknowledged the ban following metal scrap export via the port of Archangelsk to be false, Regnum cites Anatoli Sokrut, Director of Archangelsk Region’s Transport and Communications Department as saying at the meeting of the Council on maritime activities.
The number of customs stations dealing with export of scrap metal was cut to 10 when the Order of FAS No 1514 dated December 2, 2008 came into effect on March 30, 2009.

It is specialized in transshipment of general cargo, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metal, fertilizers, heavy equipment and dry bulk cargo. ACS’s facilities enable it to handle 4.5 million tonnes of cargo per year. In 2008, Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port handled 1.763.9 million tonnes of cargo.
