Yamal LNG obtains state expertise approval for construction of port Sabetta
Yamal LNG OJSC has obtained the approval of RF State Expert Evaluation Department (Glavgosekspertiza) for engineering and project documentation of the project on construction port facilities in Sabetta (Yamal peninsula) including the approach canal in the Ob Bay, the company’s press center says. State environmental approval of the project was obtained as early as in August 2013, with an approval of documentation for the project’s first phase implying the construction of an airport, workers settlement and LNG plant as well as the development of the South-Tambeyskoye field obtained from Glavgosekspertiza a year before .
As of today, Yamal LNG OJSC has all required state approvals for implementation of the project’s production and transportation parts.
Yamal LNG project envisages the construction of an LNG plant with annual capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum based on the feedstock resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field. According to the PRMS reserve standards, the proven and probable reserves of the South-Tambeyskoye field as of 31 December 2012 were appraised at 907 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The Project also requires the construction of transport infrastructure including a sea-port and an airport located at Sabetta (north-east of the Yamal Peninsula). Yamal LNG is currently owned by NOVATEK and TOTAL.
