Container carrier Mozart on her first call at port Odessa (photo)
Container carrier Mozart (222 meters long, Liberia flag) has called at port Odessa (Ukraine). According to the press center of Odessa Commercial Sea Port, it is the first call of the weekly service which has changed the G-6 direct service. The ship is operated by Hapag-Lloyd.
According to Igor Yarovoi, Operations Manager of HPC Ukraina, Operator of Odessa Port Container Terminal, the Alliance management has optimized the service in order to reduce costs. The direct service was replaced with the feeder service from Port Said to Odessa. Container ship Afena (234 meters long, operated by MOL) will operate on the service apart from the Mozart.
The Mozart delivered 383 containers with the same number of container to be loaded in Odessa. Previous ports of the feeder service – Constanta, Istanbul, Ashdod.
“We expect that the volumes of the new service will not differ from those of the direct service G-6. In September, HPC Ukraina handled 33,700 TEUs. We hope to have as good results in October,” Igor Yarovoi summarized.
