In 2013, construction works in port Sabetta involved 143 units of machinery and equipment. According to the presentation held at the 3rd Yamal Peninsula Oil & Gas Conference in Moscow by Ivan Makovsky, head of MRTS construction department, the construction involved 5 cranes with capacity varying from 60 to 180 tonnes, 5 vibrating hammers, 3 hydraulic hammers, 24 units of earth-moving equipment, 1 drilling machine, 105 units of other machinery and equipment.
Yamal LNG project envisages the construction of an LNG plant with annual capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum based on the feedstock resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field. According to the PRMS reserve standards, the proven and probable reserves of the South-Tambeyskoye field as of 31 December 2012 were appraised at 907 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The Project also requires the construction of transport infrastructure including a sea-port and an airport located at Sabetta (north-east of the Yamal Peninsula). Yamal LNG is currently owned by NOVATEK and TOTAL.
