The training tall ship Mir of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping will return to Saint-Petersburg on November 5, 2013, the University’s press center says.

During her voyage, the Mir visited 18 foreign ports in 11 countries: Germany, Norway, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Italy.

In 2013, the Mir participated in two races arranged by Sail Training International: The Tall Ships’ Races 2013 (in the Baltic Sea) and Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta 2013 (the Mir was the third in that race).

The first port of call was Hamburg (Germany), where the Mir participated in Hamburg Port Anniversary. Then, the tall ship took part in different marine festivals held in European cities.

The ship continues to implement the project of training foreign cadets. This year, the multinational crew of the ship included 60 cadets of 8 nationalities.

The Mir will spend only one month in Saint-Petersburg to replenish supplies before setting off for port Sochi to participate in Winter Olympic Games Sochi-2014.

The Mir left Saint-Petersburg on April 29, 2013.
