Loading at Russian Railways network down 0.6% to 498.9 mln t in Jan-May’14

In January-May 2014, the loading at the network of Russian Railways OJSC totaled 498.9 mln t (-0.6%, year-on-year) the company’s press center says.

In the reported period, Russian Railways loaded 126.3 mln t of coal (-1.5%, year-on-year); 4.7 mln t of coke (-2.4%); 107.6 mln t of crude oil and oil products (+2.8%); 44.5 mln t of iron and manganese ore (-1.3%); 29.4 mln t of ferrous metal (-1.3%); 5.6 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (-5.6%); 21.3 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+8.7%); 12.1 mln t of cement (-5.3%); 16.8 mln t of timber (+10.8%); 6.2 mln t of grain (+65.4%); 57.1 mln t of construction materials (-13.1%); 8 mln t of non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur (-3.9%); 11 mln t of chemicals and soda (-2.6%); 13.9 mln t (+11.4%).

From the beginning of 2014, the company’s cargo turnover totaled 942.2 bln tarrif t-km (+5.5%). Cargo turnover including empty wagon run totaled 1217.4 bln tarrif t-km (+6.4%).

In May 2014, the company loaded 103.2 mln t of cargo (-2.2%, year-on-year). The company’s cargo turnover climbed by 3% to 191.4 bln tarrif t-km. Cargo turnover including empty wagon run totaled 247.6 bln tarrif t-km (+4%, year-on-year).
