LUSCHI expands its fleet with new hopper dredger

Brazil based LUSCHI Group has acquired a 1,330 m³ Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger to add to its dredging fleet. The dredger will be named "LUSCHI X" after formalizing purchase agreement between LUSCHI and BIC Bank, the Group said in a press release.

The vessel specifications: length - 77.5 m, breadth - 13 m, dredging depth up to 22 m. Moreover, it is equipped with waterjet in the mouths of dredging, waterjet the doors of tanks, cargo barge has and "bow thruster", a type of propellant that provides greater maneuverability to the vessel system.

"To meet the ever growing demand in the field of dredging, we are investing in cutting-edge high-tech equipment capable of performing dredging with low maintenance cost and higher level of productivity," said Robert Britto, Logistics Director of LUSCHI.

Upon completion of all technical revisions and adjustments to the equipment, the TSHD LUSCHI X will enter service in August, making important works in Brazil and South America.
 
The group has acquired a 2,000 m³ hopper dredge, the "LUSCHI IX", which currently plays a strong role in the second phase of dredging of the ERG in the south of the country.

The LUSCHI specializes in dredging and the largest dredging company in Brazil.
