The Terminal de Contenedores del Puerto de Gijón (TCG), belonging to Grup TCB, has opened new offices in El Musel in order to achieve greater efficiency in the management of the various services offered at the terminal, located on the Osa docks, the company said in its press release.
With an area of 194.58 m2 across two floors, the new offices are adjacent to the terminal’s truck access door. The building includes several office areas, a conference room, bathrooms, toilets, a filing room, a dining room, a patio, etc.
As General Director of TCG Tomás Palacios explains: "We consider the opening of this new office building to be another step in TCG’s innovation strategy that allows us to grow in our capacity and handling of the shipping companies. With the new facilities we are aiming for better comfort, location and functionality of the terminal offices”.
In recent years, TCG has emerged as a point of reference in terms of infrastructure for international trade in the Cantabrian coast. In 2013, it moved 62,072 TEUs, up 28.3% from the previous year.
Its main attractions for import and export companies are its good inland connections, including its own rail terminal which enables intermodal services to transport goods to inland areas of Spain, as well as the improvements that have been carried out in recent years. These consist chiefly of the extension of hours of delivery and receipt of goods, and the launch of a website to view real-time information about stock and goods movements. In addition, TCG has cutting-edge technological equipment for loading and unloading containers.
