    Intermodal Asia 2015 dates announced

The next Intermodal Asia will take place from 24-26 March 2015, following the successful launch of Intermodal Asia 2014 at the Shanghai World Expo Center in April, Molokini Marketing reports citing the event organizer Informa Exhibitions.

The success of Intermodal Asia 2014 helped to establish the event as the new must-attend global exhibition and conference for container, transport and logistics professionals across the road, rail and sea sectors. Over 100 companies exhibited at Intermodal Asia and a full programme of informative conference sessions ran alongside the exhibition.

“Large numbers of visitors attended the exhibition and the conference sessions and the industry feedback we have received is fantastic” says Sophie Ahmed, Event Director.

Chugoku Marine Paints exhibited at Intermodal Asia, with its first Container Coatings stand at an exhibition. “Visitor numbers exceeded expectations and we welcomed numerous customers and guests for hospitality and discussions over all 3 days” says Philip Eastell, Deputy Head of Marketing, Container Coatings, at Chugoku Marine Paints.

Edward Goh, Director of Marketing at exhibiting company, Carrier Transicold says: “The inaugural Intermodal Asia was a good venue to meet with our customers and share the latest news on our product innovations.” The company offers a complete line of equipment and services for refrigerated transport and cold chain visibility.

”Intermodal Asia 2014 provides an ideal platform for exhibitors to exchange market information that will help the industry to develop.” says Joe Zhou, Sales representative from M.Y.Timber Co., Ltd, which supplies plywood flooring and bamboo-wood flooring for shipping containers.

“There was massive and virtually non-stop interest in our products at Intermodal Asia -we made hundreds of contacts and are following up on a large number of requests. It was, for us, an event in the transport industry circuit not to be missed.” adds a representative from exhibiting company, Hunter Global Tracking.

Mr. Aasim Siddiqui, Ex-Chairman of All Pakistan Shipping Association (APSA) presented a conference session during the Intermodal Rail Freight Forum at the event. “Intermodal Asia 2014 seems to have initiated the right platform for the global industry players to gather and discuss challenges and opportunities in supporting logistics for international trade” he says.

TITAN Containers A/S has been visiting sister exhibition, Intermodal Europe, since 1979. Company representative, Layland Barker, said: “The content of the show was interesting and networking in Shanghai was just like we know it at European venues.”

Intermodal Asia is organised by Informa Exhibitions in joint partnership with China’s leading container association, the CCIA (China Container Industry Association). The event has also benefited from the full support of the world’s largest container manufacturer, CIMC (China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.), which is the chairman member company of the CCIA. The official Intermodal Asia Opening Ceremony on 1 April was well attended, with a number of VIP speakers, including the Chairman of the CCIA and President of CIMC, Mr Mai Bo Liang.

“Intermodal Asia has not only met, but exceeded our expectations for the inaugural event.  Over the three days, the show brought together the industry market leaders, showcasing the whole of the container shipping industry” says Mrs Shi, of the CCIA. “With a fantastic number of visitors to the show, Intermodal Asia delivered a high quality exhibition platform for the industry to promote its healthy and sustainable development. Intermodal Asia is perfectly positioned within the heart of the container industry in Shanghai, and we are looking forward to delivering this exhibition annually, as Asia’s newly established leading intermodal show.”

70% of the exhibition space has already been booked for Intermodal Asia 2015 and the event will once again benefit from the full support of the world’s largest container manufacturer, CIMC (China International Marine Containers). CIMC will host various divisions of the CIMC corporation on its stand, providing an ideal opportunity for visitors to find out more about the company’s product range.
