St. Petersburg Passenger Port sees record cruise ship, tourist arrivals

Today,  June 25, seven cruise ships called at the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade", a record number in the 2014 cruising season. More than 12,000 cruise passengers disembarked to visit  Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

Seven vessels «AIDAbella», «Brilliance of the Seas», «Legend of the Seas», «Marina», «Mein Schiff 2», «Seven Seas Voyager» and «Thomson Spirit» stopped over at the St. Petersburg Passenger Port as part of the Baltic Sea cruise itinerary.

The gross tonnage of the cruise vessels is in excess of 450,000 tonnes with the overall length of more than 1,5 km.

JSC Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 311 m long and with a draft of up to 9 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length – 2,171.06 m.
