The delivered salvage vessel “SPASATEL ZABORSCHIKOV” went to the port of registration
On June 20th, 2014, the third multipurpose salvage vessel of MPSV07 project “SPASATEL ZABORSCHIKOV”, built at Nevsky Shipyard to RS class, was delivered to the State Marine Emergency Salvage, Rescue and Pollution Prevention Coordination Service of the Russian Federation. On June 25th, 2014, the vessel went to Vladivostok, her port of registration, the company said in its press release.
The construction of new vessel was carried out under the state contract for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Direction of State Contractor of Marine Transport Development Program. The project MPSV07 is developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC.

The vessel is intended for rescue and salvage operations, providing technical support and assistance to vessels in distress, and towing ships and offshore structures in ice and in open water. The technical capabilities allow to re-float vessels that have run aground or are reef damaged, pump water from flooded compartments, tow emergency vessels to a place of refuge, search, rescue, evacuate and accommodate of people, as well as support underwater diving works to depth up to 300 m, and survey the sea bottom and damaged objects at depths up to 1,000 m. The vessel has the capacity to extinguish burning fuel on water, extinguish fires on floating and coastal objects, and clear up oil spills and oil products, including those with flashpoint below 60 °C.
The vessel was named in honor of the veteran of the Marine Rescue Service of Russia Mikhail Zaborschikov, who took part in more than two hundred rescue and salvage operations, including highly complex ones.
Two vessels of MPSV07 project – “SPASATEL KAREV” (port of registry St. Petersburg) and “SPASATEL KAVDEYKIN” (port of registry Murmansk), which were built in 2013, are currently operating successfully.
