Hegmann-Gruppe of Sonsbeck to build trimodal terminal for heavy cargo in Wesel

The Hegmann-Gruppe of Sonsbeck near Xanten is to build a trimodal terminal for heavy cargo in Wesel, in the Rhine-Lippe Harbour (Deltaport Group). The company recently signed the contracts with Deltaport for this investment of at least €10 million, DVZ said in its press release.

Hegmann Transit is to build a hall on 45,000 m2 for the interim storage of heavy cargo such as cable drums or crane parts. For transferring cargo to and from ships, there will be four cranes with a lifting capacity of 25 tonnes and two special cranes which can lift up to 200 tonnes. This will enable Hegmann to load and unload three inland vessels at the same time, which means that the company will have the ideal facilities for transporting heavy and project cargo to and from Rotterdam. There are also other companies in this sector which have chosen a spot on the water.
