IMO's Sec-Gen Sekimizu opens the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue 1st session

Sec-Gen Sekimizu has opened the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR), 1st session (30 June to 4 July), which is being chaired by Mr Carlos Salgado of Chile (pictured). Topics on the agenda include: e-navigation, approval of ships' routeing systems and the review of the GMDSS, IMO said in its press release.
