BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair awarded $27.6 contract modification for DDG-94 work

BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, Norfolk, Virginia, is being awarded a $27,625,758 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-4308) for USS NITZE (DDG-94) fiscal 2014 and 2015 docking selected restricted availability, the U.S. Department of Defense contract announcements said.

A docking selected restricted availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship's military and technical capabilities while in dry dock. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by January 2015. Fiscal 2014 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding in the amount of $27,625,758 will be obligated at time of award and the funds will expire at the end of fiscal year 2015. Norfolk Ship Support Activity, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
