In January-July 2014, the loading at the network of Russian Railways OJSC totaled 702.6 mln t (-1.3%, year-on-year the company’s press center says.
In the reported period, Russian Railways loaded 176.1 mln t of coal (-0.3%, year-on-year); 6.6 mln t of coal (-1.9%); 148.9 mln t of oil and oil products (+2%); 62.6 mln t of iron and manganese ore (-1.9%); 41.2 mln t of ferrous metal (no changes); 8.9 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (-3%); 29.2 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+8%); 19.2 mln t of cement (-6.5%); 23.2 mln t of timber (+10.1%); 8 mln t of grain (+50.9%); 83.2 mln t of construction materials (-16.6%); 11.4 mln t of non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur (-4.9%); 15 mln t of chemicals and soda (-4.3%); 20.1 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+7%).
From the beginning of 2014, the company’s cargo turnover hit 1,322.7 bln tarrif t-km (+5.7%). Cargo turnover including empty wagon run hit 1,705.2 bln tarrif t-km (+6.4%).
In July, the company loaded 103.1 mln t (-3.3%, year-on-year). The company’s cargo turnover climbed by 5.8% to 191.5 bln tarrif t-km. Cargo turnover including empty wagon run climbed by 6.2% to 245.5 bln tarrif t-km.
