In January-July 2014, Russia seaports handled 357.3 mln t of cargo (+6.5%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 161.5 mln t (+13.6%) including 66.7 mln t of coal (+15.5%), 27.4 mln t of containerized cargo (+7.4%), 13.9 mln t of ferrous metal (+5.5%), 13.6 mln t of grain (up 2.5 times), 8.7 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+20.6%), 4.4 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (+16.8%) and и2.8 mln t of scrap metal (+48%). Transshipment of ore fell to 3.3 mln t (-22.8%), non-ferrous metal - to 1.9 mln t (-20%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 195.8 mln t (+1.3%) including 111.4 mln t of crude oil (-7.8%), 74.9 mln t of oil products (+16.1%) and 7.3 mln t of liquefied gas (+13.2%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 285.0 mln t (+8.6%, year-on-year), import – 25.4 mln t (-5.6%), transit - 28.4 mln t (+5.2%), coastal trade cargo – 18.4 mln t (-3.4%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 20.2 mln t of cargo (-24.7%, year-on-year) including 14.5 mln t of dry cargo (+4.5%) and 5.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (down 2.3 times). The port of Murmansk handled 13.2 mln t (-25.7%), Arkhangelsk - 2.3 mln t (-16.7%), Varandey - 3.4 mln t (+12.1%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 130.8 mln t (+5.6%) including 51.4 mln t of dry cargo (+10.2%), 79.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.9%). Port Ust-Luga handled 42.8 mln t of cargo (+23.8%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 35.5 mln t (+8.6%), Vysotsk - 10.5 mln t (+9.5%), Vyborg - 1.0 mln t (+33.3%), Primorsk - 33.1 mln t (-12.9%), Kaliningrad - 7.9 mln t (-3.7%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 107.8 mln t (+11.1%, year-on-year) including 37.9 mln t of dry cargo (+17.4%), 69.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+7.9%). Port Novorossiysk handled 71.0 mln t of cargo (+8.5%), Tuapse - 12.7 mln t (+34.6%), Taman - 6.0 mln t (+31.8%), Kavkaz - 5.0 mln t (+22.9%), Azov 3.1 mln t (+24.3%), Yeisk - 1.9 mln t (+12.2%), Taganrog - 1.5 mln t (+9.1%), Rostov-on-Don - 5.5 mln t (-0.7%), Temryuk - 1.0 mln t (-11.0%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 4.5 mln t of cargo (-5.5%) including 1.8 mln t of dry cargo (+1.8%) and 2.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-9.7%). Throughput of port Makhachkala declined by 7.8%, Olya – by 16.0%. Port Astrakhan increased its throughput by 1.3%.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 94.0 mln t (+13.2%) including 55.8 mln t of dry cargo (+17.4%) and 38.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+7.5%). Port Vostochny handled 32.9 mln t of cargo (+15.8%), Vanino - 15.2 mln t (+8.1%), Nakhodka - 12.3 mln t (+17.3%), Prigorodnoye - 9.6 mln t (+1.6%), Vladivostok - 9.1 mln t (+12.0%), De-Castri –4.5 mln t (+19.5%), Pociet - 4.3 mln t (+38.6%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
