Tall ship Sedov could not call at Trelleborg having not applied for permit, port authorities say
Port of Trelleborg authorities is sorry that Russian tall ship Sedov did not come to the port. As Agneta Nilsson, Communication Manager at Port of Trellborg told IAA PortNews, “they were looking forward to it and had made arrangements together with the municipality”.
According to the information received by the port, the Sedov should have applied for a permit to board the Swedish water which they didn’t do.
“Last time the Sedov was in Trelleborg they asked for permission and received it,” Ms. Nilsson comments adding that the port authorities don’t know why the ship didn’t apply this time.
She also says Port of Trelleborg is not in the position to give permissions. It is the Swedish authorities who give that and it has to be applied six months in advance.
According to earlier reports, Russian training tall ship Sedov was not allowed to enter the port of Trelleborg. Having received no explanations, the ship set off for the port of Gdynia.
