17 February, 2015, buildno. 365 Viking Neptun was delivered from Kleven Verft to Eidesvik. The subsea construction vessel is designed by Salt Ship Design, and is with its 145 x 31 m the largest vessel delivered from Kleven to date, the company said in its press release.
Viking Neptun will be a very powerful tool for the owner. Equipped with a 400 t offshore cran and a 100 t offshore crane, the vessel can handle heavy underwater installations. The vessel also has a carousel with a capacity for 4400 tons of flexible pipes. A 2600 m2 cargo deck and accomodation for 150 people also indicates the size of the vessel. Viking Neptun holds ice class ICE 1B, allowing it to operate in arctic waters.
The naming ceremony will take place in Stavanger 28 February, after which the vessel will start working for Technip.
