Petronas, GE, Petrofac, Siemens and others discussed project and risk management of EPC projects in South East Asia
The EPC in Oil and Gas 2015, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) last 9-12 March 2015, gathered top decision makers and leading project managers from different EPC and oil and gas suppliers and operators in Asia, the event organizer InVida Events said in a press release.
The event started off with 2 practical workshops that covered bidding and negotiating EPC contracts with the current state of oil prices in the world market. The 1st day of the main conference featured the overview and outlook of Indonesia’s oil and gas projects. Risk allocation, contract drafting requirements, indemnities and liabilities and dispute resolution were discussed in detail by speakers from Petronas, ADCO, PTTEP and JCBS. Project management challenges were emphasized on the 2nd day of the main conference. Subcontractor liabilities, multiple contractor and vendor management, and efficient EPC control management were presented by Petronas, GE and PT Rekayasa. The last day of the event covered a workshop on strategic sourcing and cost analysis for procurement and supply chain professionals in the oil and gas industry.
With the theme of “Improving Large Scale EPC Projects”, EPC in Oil and Gas 2015 was a successful gathering of major oil and gas companies that was attended by Petronas, Shell, Kuwait Oil Company, Siemens, KUFPEC, GE, Petrofac, AECOM, Kentz, TechInt, PT Rekayasa, KPOC and many others.
