Port charges in Crimea make the peninsula ports uncompetitive as compared with mainland ports

The surge of port charges rates in Crimea (except for Sevastopol) from January 1, 2015 has made the peninsula ports uncompetitive as compared with ports Temryuk and Kavkaz, a source in one of Crimean transport companies told IAA PortNews.

The rates were approved by the Director General of SUE RC Crimea Sea Ports. With the new rates the call at port Kerch costs at least three times as much as the call at the nearest ports, Temryuk and Kavkaz.
