The development of port infrastructure in the Avachinskaya Bay will let accept and service vessels on the Northern Sea Route providing services on ship repair, cargo transshipment and bunkering. This has been announced by Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Ilyukhin at his meeting with Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the Government’s press center says.
The Governor expects the creation of a Priority Development Area in Kamchatka to give a good impetus to port business development in the region.
Kamchatka PDA has been recently approved at the meeting of the Governmental Sub-Committee headed by Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
On his working trip to Kamchatka, Dmitry Rogozin also visited the production facilities of North-East Repair Center (NERC OJSC).
