In January-March 2016, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 2,290,000 t of cargo (+24%, year-on-year), Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 25.4% to 625,000 t, grain – by 68.2% to 764,000 t, coal and coke – by 12.4% to 168,000 t, metal scrap – by 16.4% to 168,000 t, liquid bulk food – by 9.1% to 138,000 t, general cargo – by 28.5% to 107,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 18.2% to 293,000 t.
In the reported period, loading increased by 29.1% to 2,168,000 t; unloading – fell by 26.7% to 122,000 t. No operations with transit cargo were held in Jan-March'16, neither in Jan- March '15.
In the reported period, the number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 614/621 against 477 /481 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 38% to 16,400 t.
