Hapag-Lloyd to increase rates from North Continent and Mediterranean to East Asia, Indian Subcontinent and Middle East

With effect from May 1, 2016 Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase for all cargoes and all container types on the Far East eastbound trade by USD 200 per container, the company said in its press release.

Foregoing is applicable for all shipments from North Europe and Mediterranean to all East Asia, Indian Subcontinent and Middle East destinations, excluding reefer and special equipment.

North Europe comprises North West Continent, the U.K., Scandinavia, Baltic and European ports of Russia.

Mediterranean comprises the West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean, Black Sea and North Africa.

East Asia comprises Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (PRC), Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei and Russian Pacific Ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny.

Indian Subcontinent comprises the West Coast ports of India (Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Delhi) and all inland container depot (ICD) locations moving via the ports of Nhava Sheva, Mundra, East and South Coast India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Middle East comprises Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
