Estonian Tax and Customs Board awarded Transiidikeskus with AEOF certificate
Estonian Tax and Customs Board awarded Transiidikeskuse AS with the Authorized Economic Operator – Full (AEOF) certificate, which enables the company to use various procedural simplifications in customs operations,Transiidikeskuse says in a press release.
In European Union, the licences of authorized operators are issued by customs institutions and the status determines the operator as a trustworthy and secure partner who can use several customs-related benefits. AEOF certificate is the highest level a company can achieve.
“The authorized operator status is good news to all our customers. It involves several benefits like a diminished number of customs controls, fast lines, easier proceedings for issuing various permits and many other things. As an operator of Estonia’s largest goods terminal we transport so many goods that the added effectiveness from the simplified customs procedures can be measured in time and money for our customers,” commented Erik Laidvee the Chairman of the Board of Transiidikeskuse AS.
For the Tax and Customs Board, co-operation with authorized operators is a good practice, because the certification preceding it guarantees that the partner company’s work processes are well managed and correspond with the demands of CTB.
„The status of an authorized company is attractive because it is recognized in all the countries of the European Union and has tangible advantages over other companies. The customs legislation of the European Union that came into force in May takes one step further and makes the warranty benefits pan-European, for example,“ said Katrin Punga, the head of Tax and Customs Board customs department.
Transiidikeskuse AS is an Estonian terminal operator specialized in container and general goods in Muuga port.
