Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 11.4% to 53.44 mln t in Jan-May'16

In January-May 2016, seaports of Ukraine handled 53,447,000 t of cargo (-11.4%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 41,140,000 t (no changes, y-o-y), import – 7,032,000 t (-13.4%), transit – 4,395,000 t (-48.9%), inland traffic – 873,000 t.

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 247,066 TEUs (+20.2%, year-on-year).

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 16,526,000 t (31% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 36,921,000 t (69% of total volume) including 21.312 mln t handled via USPA berths (40% of total volume).
