Rauma Shipyard secures its first Ro-Ro ferry contract worth EUR 68m

Rauma Marine Constructions Ltd (RMC) has signed a contract for 158-foot passenger and car ferry with Denmark based Mols-Linien, the shipbuilding company said in a press release.

The contract is valued at approximately EUR 68 million. The order, which is very significant for the company set up in 2014 will be executed entirely by Rauma shipyard. The RO-RO vessel will be completed in two years and gives an opportunity to develop the shipbuilding activities at Rauma for a long term. The future ship designing is already underway. The actual construction will start in the spring of 2017. The new ship will enter service on the route to the Danish island of Bornholm in September 2018.
