Vympel Shipyard launches yet another Grachonok-class boat of Project 21980 (photo)
On July 22, 2016, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched the second anti-terror boat of Project 21980 (Hull No 01222) in the series of four Grachonok-class boats under construction for RF Ministry of Defence, says the shipyard. The lead Grachonok-class boat (Hull No 01221) was launched on June 7.
The ceremony was attended by Vympel Deputy Director General Viktor Doskin, boat crew and shipyard personnel.
Upon completion of the mooring trials the boat will leave for the Gadzhiyevo base to undergo the sea trials and the state tests. Then the boat will join Russia’s Northern Fleet.
